Wrapping up a beautiful 2021.

This year has been an amazingly full year! I am so thankful for the many ways the Lord allowed me to grow in my artistry as a songwriter and to develop a vision for how to encourage others.

In January I signed up for a Songwriting Mastermind program with an artistry group called “Artist And” which seeks to encourage non- vocational songwriters to weave their work into their other full time callings. It was a beautiful eight month mentorship program led by two lovely, humble women who both hold songwriting awards. The participants were a group of wonderful people who met virtually twice a month. During the program, I grew in the skill of co-writing, gained new friendships, and enjoyed being under the guidance of the leaders (Christa Wells and Nichole Witt). It was an encouraging experience that the Lord used to help direct my passions back into nurturing the songwriter within me.

In the spring I began Virtual Live conversations on Instagram with other moms (CHECK THEM OUT HERE). These proved to be encouraging on many levels as we conversed over the all-encompassing juggling act of motherhood and artistry. I hope to host more conversations in the new year and am excited for how this will deepen and develop existing and new friendships with other mothers who feel called to steward their art passions while nurturing their families.

Mike and I continued to work on recordings of six new original songs. We recorded piano and vocals at the church and brought them to a local studio here in Jackson for completion. At Blue Sky Studios, we added new layers and were blessed by new friendships throughout the process. We were so proud to complete these recordings right in our own home town and are happy with how they turned out!

In the new year, we plan to release one single every other month on digital platforms. Please join us in prayer that the Lord will use these songs to bless His people.

On the home front, the kids continue to do well. Everyone is getting so big. Nothing prepared me for the mental capacity that is required in raising four spanning 9 years apart, but the Lord continues to be gracious to me and Mike as we learn how to best parent them each uniquely. Mike and I got out on the town and played a few Christmas parties this season which was especially exciting considering all the shut downs last year. Christmas music really is my favorite.

I am so grateful to each of you who have followed me on this musical journey and can’t wait to see what God does next year.
